Tanton the ant is the Tiny Virtue Hero of FORTITUDE. Tanton is very strong, but he has never known anyone with the virtue-strength of Jesus before. We imagine Tanton in a crack between the sones by the pillar where Jesus was whipped and scourged. To get hit, and not hit back. To get so many cuts and not weep and cry. To get boo-boos all over, and not run away or give up, is super-powered fortitude.

Tanton also admires the fortitude of the Apostle James, who showed heroic restraint as the angry soldiers were so rough with Jesus. We can picture James quietly hidden in the background, learning from Jesus the fortitude-strength of love that chooses not to attack enemies.
